Only Life and Death bubbles' attacks have an effect beyond damage to enemy (and cooldown) right now.
Fire needs burn to make it balanced v water (water otherwise simply has better stats)
Water could use an effect, but what?
Air could use an effect, but what?
Also, it's current status as the only type with a cooldown of 1 effectively gives it an "effect" - that of always being in sync with it's neighbors.

effects that persist across turns (like burn) need a visual indicator (naively, icon+digit should do the trick)

it could extinguish burns (they seem quite strong currently). maybe not from all to nothing, but rather halving the burn counter on self? this could nicely counter-balance water and fire
